The House Journal of Player & Wills (Ireland) Limited No. 21 Dec. 1969

Miss Una Hogan

The news that Miss Hogan had collapsed and died returning to her car after evening Mass in University Church was so totally unexpected that even now three weeks later it is still difficult to accept that her forceful presence is no longer with us.  She knew everybody and everybody knew her- both inside the Company and outside.  Probably no one could list the full extent of her professional, charitable and social  work but the total of her known activities in these fields is staggering.  No matter how many helping hands she extended she could always fit in just one more deserving cause and supply immediate practical help without fuss, bother, or the loss of good humour.

Her generosity was as boundless as her charity and no sporting or social occasion in the Company - especially in Botanic Road days -  whether official or unofficial was ever left unfed -often at her own expense.

She was a rare and admirable person and the last who would have chosen resting in peace.  May she have plenty to do above.
